“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world.
Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

A Movement for Mother Earth - The Last Stand for Ancient Forests

TREE SISTERS interview - An introduction of who we are

ARISE FOR THE ANCIENT FORESTS | SAVE FAIRY CREEK
Film Release April 1, 2021

We are a grassroots movement founded by two mothers, aiming to be a space of weaving stories of our ancestral roots with the roots of indigenous stewards of the land we have settled on.

We feel our Great Mothers heart. She bore our bones. She breaths us in waves attuned to the rhythm of the ocean. We give back to Her.

We stand in solidarity, echoing Indigenous Sovereignty and Land Rights, to protect the sacred ancient landscapes that give us Life.

May our resonant network ripple worldwide.

For the future generations.

We remember ourselves as Her, the Great Mother.

Our lifestyles have us devoted to embodying this memory of our roots in the land that we steward and are of service to.

This movement is to weave us in allyship to bring further action for greater change in the ecological and social justice systems. We hold the value of Land Back for Indigenous Rights.

This is a women led organization, and educational platform. At the center of our movement is the coming together to empower each other for greater action to be invoked through us united in solidarity.

We aim to create, empower and uplift through: education, media, sacred counsel space, civil disobedience, movement, meditation, ritual, dance, art, song and devotion.

We are at the last 2.5% of these ancient trees in British Columbia. The logging industry is not sustainable as it is now. We are voices to support the healthy changes of these systems for the sustainability of ALL future generations.

The momentum of people speaking the TRUTH and speaking up for the rights of the voiceless is SO inspiring!

Join us mothers, women, creators, collaborators, and allies!

We welcome you to come be a co-creator in this mission to protect what is sacred. The land, especially the Ancient Forests. The life-giving waters. The air we breathe. The fires in our hearts and souls - alive.

Our goal is to be in the right relationship with the First Nations people, the original stewards of the land we now call Canada.

We echo the Indigenous Sovereignty movement and acknowledge that we are on stolen land and the colonial system of power is corrupt as it is now. It is time for change.

Our seeding project is in the protection of the Ancient Forests of Pacheedaht Nation, Fairy Creek.

The Ancient Forest of Ada’istix, Fairy Creek on Vancouver Island is the Indigenous land of the Pacheedaht First Nations.

We echo
"LEAVE Old Growth UNTOUCHED.”
Not just this AREA -

but ALL Old Growth in BC.

This is a NON-RENEWABLE RESOURCE that is PIVOTAL to the survival of the human species. There is far more than logging happening, it is genocide with clear cuts that affect our plant life, mammals, watersheds, oceans, marine life, and insects.

WE NEED TO ACT NOW.

We do need as many voices as possible to come together to make change.

These forests belong to the First Nations people, they welcome us as settlers to this land, with a recognition that it is a spiritual place. It does not belong to the logging corporations for temporary profit. They are destroying the sacred and stealing our future.

The logging industry has logged 97% of the Ancient Forests. Second-cut forests do not create the biodiversity needed to keep life vital in these regions.
Premier John Horgan has betrayed the people of British Columbia with false promises and lies. He has approved more logging in the last 3 years of the Old Growth than any premier.

Trees are the lungs of the Earth.

We breathe in what they breathe out,

they breathe in what we breathe out.

These ecosystems with the great elders are our best allies in restoring carbon to our planet.
We must come together now to take action in solidarity, peaceful civil disobedience to defend and protect these forests, for future generations to come.

(Shown 500-year-old Douglas Fir Tree.
Can you imagine 3000?)

Our elders are endangered. We need these giants for our own survival.

The forests are a spiritual place.

We believe that as we come with united as like-minded ideals, values and clarity on our vision and intentions together as a global family, then we can heal the wounds of our culture, and can help restore our Mother Earth to health as well.

We are ecological Beings. We are nature and They are us. We are reclaiming the traditions and values of our ancestors.

How can we begin to take only what we need?

Greed is a sickness in our culture. We must be aware of this.

We must remember who we really are.

Let’s connect to share in the beauty making in the new world our hearts know is possible.
